Strawberry and Hazelnut Gelato from Sweetaly
  1. Sweetaly

Location 1: 1527 S. 1500 E. Salt Lake City UT 84105

Location 2: 2245 E. Murray Holladay Rd. Holladay UT 84117

The best gelato in town used to be Dolcetti, in the 9th and 9th neighborhood, but lately I have found Sweetaly to be a bit better. I find the employees at Sweetaly to be nicer, the consistency to be better, and the prices are more affordable. I absolutely love the hazelnut, ferrero rocher, and pistachio flavors at Sweetaly. Each month Sweetaly rotates a few flavors, so always check out their instagram to see what your current options are.

Mint Chip, Rocky Road, and a candy bar ice cream from MONKEYWRENCH

2. MonkeyWrench

Location: 53 E. Gallivan Ave. Salt Lake City UT 84111

MonkeyWrench is completely vegan, with tons of gluten free options as well. The ice cream is all made in house, and is so good, you really can't tell it is non-dairy, or as their claim, #antidairy. They also do tons of seasonal flavors, and have later hours, which can be nice in the the heat of the summer! Since they make everything, the homemade peanut butter cups and other candy pieces they add to their ice cream bases are so good, so be sure to get a fun flavor when you stop by!

Honeycomb and Passionfruit gelato from Dolcetti

3. Dolcetti

Location: 902 E. 900 St. Salt Lake City UT 84105

Dolcetti has some more unique flavors, and I love their mango sticky rice gelato (also what they are most known for!). Both Dolcetti and Sweetaly do a pretty good job of posting their current flavors on Instagram, so be sure to check them out to see which place has you most excited!

Passionfruit Taiyaki from Doki Doki

4. Doki Doki

Location: 249 E. 400 St. Salt Lake City UT 84111

For a very instagrammable and fun experience, head to Doki Doki in downtown SLC. The taiyaki (soft serve ice cream topped with a fish shaped soft waffle cookie) and the crepe cakes are fun to try. The lines here are often super long, but it is a very fun experience if you have the time!
